Ingredients
- 500g Beef mince, regular, not extra lean
- 1 small Onion, finely grated
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and black pepper
- 1 tbsp Olive oil
- 4 Burger buns, split
- 4 Cheese slices
- 4 leaves Lettuce
- 1 Tomato, sliced
- to serve Tomato sauce or mayonnaise
You’ll need: Large frying pan
Method
Mix the mince, onion, Worcestershire sauce, 1 tsp salt and pepper with your hands until just combined. Shape into 4 patties about 2 cm thick and press a dip into the centre of each.
Heat the oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for 4–5 minutes per side until browned and cooked through with no pink inside. Add the cheese for the last minute.
Toast the buns in the pan or under the grill. Fill with lettuce, tomato, patties and sauce.
Storage
Raw patties keep in the fridge up to 1 day or freeze up to 3 months. Cooked patties keep up to 2 days; reheat until piping hot all the way through.
