Ingredients
- 4 tbsp (40g) Self-raising flour
- 2 tbsp (25g) Caster sugar
- 1 tbsp Cocoa powder
- 3 tbsp (45ml) Milk
- 2 tbsp (30ml) Vegetable oil
You’ll need: Microwave-safe mug (350ml or larger), Fork
Method
Use a large microwave-safe mug of at least 350ml (1 1/2 cups) so the cake has room to rise.
Add the flour, sugar and cocoa to the mug and stir with a fork. Add the milk and oil and mix until smooth, scraping the corners.
Microwave on high: start with 50 seconds for a 1000W microwave, 60 seconds for 800W, or 75 seconds for 700W.
Check the cake. The top should look dry and spring back lightly, and a skewer should come out with a few moist crumbs but no raw batter. If not, cook in 10-second bursts, checking each time.
Stand for 1 minute, as the mug is hot (use oven mitts), then eat straight from the mug.
Storage
Best eaten straight away.
