Italian Chicken Parmigiana Recipe

Ingredients

-4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
-2 eggs
-1 cup Italian style breadcrumbs
-1/4 teaspoon black pepper
-1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
-1/2 cup olive oil
-2 cups marinara sauce
-2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
-1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
-1/4 cup chopped fresh basil
-1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.

2. In a shallow dish, beat the eggs together. In another shallow dish, combine the breadcrumbs, pepper, and garlic powder.

3. Dip each chicken breast in the egg mixture and then into the breadcrumb mixture, making sure to coat both sides.

4. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Place the chicken breasts in the skillet and cook for about 5 minutes on each side, until golden brown and cooked through.

5. Place the chicken breasts in a lightly greased 9×13 inch baking dish. Pour the marinara sauce over the top of the chicken breasts, then top with the mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, basil, and parsley.

6. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Serve warm. Enjoy!
