Smoked Chicken Breasts

If you’re looking for a delicious, easy meal that really packs a flavour punch, smoked chicken breasts are a great option. They can be served on their own or used for a variety of recipes, and you don’t have to have a smoker to make them – although the smoking process does add a unique depth of flavour.

Smoking chicken is a lengthy process, but the results are truly worth the wait. Use your favourite spices and sauces to experiment with different flavours, and serve with sides like grilled vegetables, salad, or roasted potatoes.

Ingredients

– 4 chicken breasts
– 2 teaspoons of your favourite seasoning (we like garlic powder and paprika)
– 2 tablespoons of your favourite liquid smoke
– 2 tablespoons of olive oil

Instructions

1. Start by preparing your chicken. If the breasts are frozen, let them sit in the refrigerator overnight to thaw. Rinse the chicken with cold water and pat dry with paper towels.

2. Rub the chicken with the seasoning and olive oil. Place the chicken breasts in a large bowl and pour the liquid smoke over them, coating them completely. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a lid and place in the refrigerator for 4 hours.

3. When ready to cook, lightly oil the grate of your smoker or preheat the oven to 375°F. Place the chicken on the grate of your smoker and close the lid. If using the oven, place the chicken breasts along with a few tablespoons of liquid smoke in a large baking dish.

4. Cook the chicken breasts in the smoker or the oven until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F, about 1.5 – 2 hours. Remove the chicken from the smoker and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy!
