  1. Preheat the oven to 350° F and butter a 9-inch cake pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, beat together the sugar and eggs with an electric mixer set on medium speed, until the mixture is light and fluffy, about 2 minutes.
  4. Mix in the milk and almond extract until just combined.
  5. Stir in the melted butter and lavender extract until just combined.
  6. Using a rubber spatula, fold the dry ingredients into the egg mixture until just blended.
  7. Divide the batter into two separate bowl, and stir in 3 drops of violet food coloring into one bowl.

  9. Bake the cake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean when inserted into the center.
