A Delicious Thai Basil Soup Recipe
There’s no doubt that Thai cuisine is one of the most beloved in the world. Full of bold flavors and intense spices, it’s no wonder so many people enjoy it! One of my favorite dishes is Thai Basil Soup, and today I’d like to share the recipe with you.
– 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
– 2 cloves of garlic, minced
– 2 tablespoons of freshly minced ginger root
– 1 red bell pepper, chopped
– 1 cup of mushrooms, sliced
– 1/2 cup of chicken broth
– 2 cups of coconut milk
– 2 tablespoons of fish sauce
– 1 tablespoon of sugar
– 1/4 cup of Thai basil leaves
– 2 tablespoons of lime juice
1. Heat the oil in a large saucepan over medium heat.
2. Add the garlic and ginger and cook for 2 minutes, stirring occasionally.
3. Add the bell pepper and mushrooms, and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
4. Add the chicken broth, coconut milk, fish sauce, and sugar. Stir to combine, and bring to a simmer.
5. Add the Thai basil and lime juice, stirring gently.
6. Simmer for 10 minutes, or until the vegetables have softened.
7. Serve hot, garnished with additional Thai basil if desired.
