• 2 tablespoons sesame oil
• 3 cloves garlic
• 1/4 cup sake or vermouth
• 2 tablespoons vegetable or canola oil

1. Combine the ground beef with the Chinese Five Spice powder, freshly grated ginger, brown sugar, soy sauces, honey, sesame oil, garlic, sake or vermouth, and oil in a large bowl. Mix until the ingredients are evenly blended.

2. Transfer the mixture to a shallow heatproof dish that you can use for steaming.

3. Bring a pot of water to a rolling boil and carefully place the dish inside the steamer.

4. Cover and steam the beef mixture for 15 minutes until the beef is cooked.

5. Uncover the steamer and season the beef with salt, to taste.

6. To serve, divide the steamed beef among plates and enjoy.
