Southern-Style Meatloaf
Nothing gets people happier than a classic, home-cooked meal. This southern-style meatloaf is sure to put a smile on your family’s faces. The recipe combines two favorite southern dishes, Cajun spices and meatloaf, for a delicious, one pan meal. Serve with mashed potatoes or a warm spring salad for a complete happy meal!
Ingredients:
- 1 lb. lean ground beef
- 1 egg
- ½ cup soft bread crumbs
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- ¼ cup minced onion
- 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- ½ tsp. dry mustard
- 1 tsp. Cajun seasoning
- ¼ tsp. black pepper
- 1 8-ounce can tomato sauce
- ¼ cup ketchup
- 1 Tbsp. brown sugar
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- In large bowl, combine all ingredients until thoroughly mixed. Transfer mixture to a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Shape mixture into a loaf shape.
- Mix together ketchup, tomato sauce and brown sugar in small bowl and spread over top of the loaf.
- Bake for 1 hour.
- Serve warm topped with cooked vegetables for a cheerful, comfort food meal.
