Southern-Style Meatloaf

Nothing gets people happier than a classic, home-cooked meal. This southern-style meatloaf is sure to put a smile on your family’s faces. The recipe combines two favorite southern dishes, Cajun spices and meatloaf, for a delicious, one pan meal. Serve with mashed potatoes or a warm spring salad for a complete happy meal!


  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup soft bread crumbs
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • ¼ cup minced onion
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ tsp. dry mustard
  • 1 tsp. Cajun seasoning
  • ¼ tsp. black pepper
  • 1 8-ounce can tomato sauce
  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • 1 Tbsp. brown sugar


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. In large bowl, combine all ingredients until thoroughly mixed. Transfer mixture to a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  3. Shape mixture into a loaf shape.
  4. Mix together ketchup, tomato sauce and brown sugar in small bowl and spread over top of the loaf.
  5. Bake for 1 hour.
  6. Serve warm topped with cooked vegetables for a cheerful, comfort food meal.
