Madame Gabillet’s Chicken – A Succulent French Delight!
Bonjour! Are you ready to experience some Gallic culinary delight? This traditional Madame Gabillet’s chicken is the epitome of classic French cuisine – and it won’t disappoint! To create this sensational dish, you will need a selection of succulent flavors, light crispy pastry and a generous helping of love!
Ingredients
500g chicken thighs (boneless and skinless)
3 tablespoons olive oil
3 cloves garlic (crushed)
1 tablespoon of fresh thyme
100ml of white wine
1 sheet of puff pastry
1 tablespoon of wholegrain mustard
75g of butter
1 egg (beaten)
Salt & pepper
Method
1. Preheat your oven to 190°C/Gas Mark 5
2. In a large saucepan heat the olive oil and sauté the chicken thighs for 3-4 minutes.
3. Add the garlic and thyme and cook for a further 1 minute.
4. Pour the wine over the chicken, reduce the heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
5. Transfer the chicken to an ovenproof dish and place the puff pastry on top.
6. Brush the pastry with beaten egg and spread the wholegrain mustard over the pastry.
7. Cut the butter into small pieces and place on top of the pastry.
8. Bake in the oven for 15 minutes, or until the pastry is golden and crispy.
9. Serve hot with your favorite side dish (a crisp green salad and some French baguette works wonders!).
