Korean Japchae Recipe
Korean Japchae is a popular Korean dish by combining various vegetables and sweet potatoes noodles called dangmyeon. It is a great recipe to celebrate special occasions as it is easy to make and full of flavor. This flavorful dish is sure to be a hit with your guests!
Ingredients:
– 10-12 ounces of sweet potato noodles (dangmyeon)
– 2 tablespoons of sesame oil
– ½ sweet onion, thinly sliced
– 1 carrot, julienned
– 3 mushrooms (optional), sliced
– 1 red bell pepper, julienned
– 2 cloves of garlic, minced
– 1 tablespoon of minced fresh ginger
– 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
– 1 tablespoon of brown sugar
– 1 teaspoon of sesame seeds, for garnish
– 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the noodles and cook for about 8 minutes or according to package instructions. Drain the noodles and rinse under cold water. Transfer the noodles to a bowl and drizzle with sesame oil. Use a pair of tongs to gently toss the noodles and set aside.
2. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the garlic, onion, and ginger and cook until lightly browned, about 3 minutes.
3. Add the mushrooms, carrots, and bell pepper and cook for another 3 minutes.
4. Add the noodles to the skillet and season with soy sauce and brown sugar. Toss everything together and cook until the noodles are cooked through and the vegetables are tender, about 5-7 minutes.
5. Garnish with sesame seeds and serve hot. Enjoy!
