Johnny Cash Chili

– 2 tablespoons oil

– 1 pound ground beef

– 1 large onion, diced

– 2 cloves garlic, minced

– 2 tablespoons chili powder

– 2 teaspoons ground cumin

– 1 teaspoon paprika

– 1 teaspoon oregano

– 1 teaspoon garlic powder

– 1 (14.5 oz) can diced tomatoes

– 1 (15 oz) can dark red kidney beans, drained and rinsed

– 1 (15 oz) can black beans, drained and rinsed

– 1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce

– 2 cups water

– Salt and pepper, to taste


1. Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat.

2. Add the ground beef, onions, and garlic and cook until the beef is browned, about 7 minutes.

3. Add the chili powder, cumin, paprika, oregano, and garlic powder. Stir to combine.
