- 1 kg chicken thighs, cut into cubes
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 2 onions, chopped
- 2 tablespoons ginger-garlic paste
- 2 tomatoes, pureed
- 1 teaspoon chilli powder
- 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
- 1 cup yogurt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- Salt to taste
- 2 tablespoons fresh cream
- 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro
- Heat the oil in a large saucepan over medium-high heat. Add the chicken cubes and cook until lightly browned on all sides.
- Add the onions and ginger-garlic paste and cook until the onions are softened, about 5 minutes.
- Lower the heat to medium-low and add the tomato puree, chilli powder, garam masala powder, yogurt, sugar and salt. Stir to combine.
- Cover and simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add the cream and stir to incorporate. Simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve with rice or naan.
