Greek Dolmades Recipe

Instructions:

1. In a large bowl, combine the rice, currants, parsley, dill, mint, olive oil, allspice, cumin, vinegar, lemon zest, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1/2 teaspoon of pepper.

2. Drain and rinse the vine leaves and pat them dry. Set aside.

3. Lay a vine leaf on a flat surface and cut the stem off. Add about a tablespoon of the rice filling to the center of the leaf and wrap the sides up and over the filling. Repeat until all the rice filling is used.

4. Grease the bottom of a large pot and line the bottom with grape leaves. Place the stuffed vine leaves in the pot, seam side down.

5. Place a plate on top of the dolmades, pour the butter and 1/2 cup of water over them and bring to a boil.

6. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 45 minutes.

7. Remove the plate, transfer the dolmades to a platter and drizzle with olive oil. Serve warm.
