Pain au Chocolat French Chocolate Croissant
French pain au chocolat is a wonderfully indulgent bakery item, made with croissant dough, butter and chocolate. It is one of the most popular pastries in France and around the world. Many people try to recreate French pain au chocolat at home, but the results are usually a far cry from the original. With this easy-to-follow recipe, you will be able to make perfect French pain au chocolat in no time!
Ingredients:
-1 lb. croissant dough
-4 Tablespoons butter, melted
-A Bar dark chocolate (about 7 oz.)
-2 cups confectioner’s sugar
-1 teaspoon cinnamon
Instructions:
1) Preheat oven to 350 °F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2) On a lightly floured surface, roll out the croissant dough into a 12-inch-square. Cut the dough in half and then cut each piece crosswise into 6 triangles.
3) Place a piece of chocolate in the widest end of each triangle and roll them up from the base.
4) Place the rolls seam-side down on the baking sheet, approximately 3 inches apart.
5) Brush the tops of the rolls with the melted butter.
6) Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
7) While the rolls bake, prepare the glaze by mixing together the confectioners’ sugar and cinnamon.
8) Once the rolls are cooked, brush with the glaze and serve warm.
