Delicious Dirty Chai Cookies

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup dark brown sugar, packed
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
- 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup ground cinnamon-sugar (for rolling)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (176°C).
- In a medium bowl, cream together the butter and sugars until light and creamy. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until combined.
- Add in the cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, cloves, black pepper, and salt. Beat until it is all combined.
- In a small bowl, stir together the baking powder and flour. Add to the wet ingredients and mix until all incorporated. Stit in the rolled oats and chocolate chips.
- Drop the dough by rounded tablespoons onto an ungreased baking sheet. Roll each cookie ball into the ground cinnamon-sugar before putting it onto the baking sheet.
- Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until the edges of the cookies are lightly golden. Be sure not to over bake. Allow to cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
