Chinese Chow Mein Recipe

Chow mein is a classic Chinese dish of stir-fried noodles that is beloved throughout the world. Simple to make yet full of flavor, this dish is sure to become a favorite in your family. Ingredients

– 2 bundles of lo mein noodles
– 2 tablespoons of sesame oil
– 1/4 cup of soy sauce
– 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
– 1 large onion, sliced
– 3 cloves of garlic minced
– 1 red bell pepper, sliced
– 4 large mushrooms, sliced
– 2 cups of bean sprouts
– 2 tablespoons of cornstarch
– 2 tablespoons of water

Instructions

1. Bring a medium-sized pot of water to a boil over high heat. Add the noodles to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions. Drain and rinse the noodles with cold water and set aside.

2. Heat the sesame and vegetable oils in a large wok over high heat. Add the onion, garlic, bell pepper, and mushrooms. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are lightly browned.

3. Reduce the heat to medium and add the bean sprouts. Stir-fry for an additional 2 minutes.

4. Add the noodles to the wok, followed by the soy sauce. Stir to combine.

5. In a small bowl, whisk together the cornstarch and water. Slowly pour the mixture over the noodles, stirring constantly.

6. Let the noodles cook for 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens. Serve hot. Enjoy!
