This recipe has been passed down through generations in my family and we’ve been making it for special occasions for years. With a few key ingredients and a few simple steps, it’s been a household favorite. Our family history with this cake dates back to the 1800s, so when you recreate this recipe, you’re connecting with the ancient culinary past!

What’s truly unique about this recipe is its decadent combination of sweet and tart flavors. A perfect balance between the two that pervades every bite and surprise you with a flavor you can’t quite pinpoint. This is due to the combination of tart apples, pure honey, cinnamon and vanilla extract. Together, these ingredients create a tantalizingly complex flavor that can’t be beat.

The beauty of this recipe lies in its utter simplicity. With just a bowl and a spoon, you can mix all the ingredients together in a matter of minutes. After that, all you need to do is dump them into a pan, bake and voila! Once it’s cooled, you’ll have a warm, fragrant hub of flavor that will have everyone coming back for seconds.

For an even more aromatic experience, you can sprinkle a handful of walnuts on top. This will create little bits of crunch that further enhance and complicate the flavor of the cake.
